Thank you, FIDM.

I  was invited to participate in a segment hosted by FIDM, the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising prior to the COVID-19 outbreak. The video above is the outcome of said project. Please watch, share it with someone you know who is considering their options for post secondary studies.

I complete my studies at FIDM this June and will be graduating in September. There are no words that will adequately express what my time here has been like. I discovered so much about myself, others, and created just as much. I found my voice here. Gratitude truly changes everything, and I am so grateful for this experience... As a youth growing up in Toronto, there seemed to be so much that was unattainable or unachievable — FIDM has taught me that there is room at the table for anyone who truly wants it badly enough. In short: YOU CAN. SHOW UP. BE PRESENT. DO THE WORK. Bet on yourself, I promise you will win EVERYTIME.

I’m incredibly excited for the future (there’s still so much more to go #AintGonStop), but am brimming with joy for all of the memories made so far. My lifelong goal was to live in California and look ma, I made it. Thank you, FIDM. Thank you to my friends and family — without them this would not have been possible. I am only at this point by the faith that my loved ones have had in me. You know who you are.

Be bold, take risks, and immerse yourself in what inspires you! Whilst on your path to success keep honing your unique skills that trademark your individuality; your story can change the world!

Have you ever thought about pursuing a career in design? Have you ever considered attending post secondary school in another country or at FIDM? Drop a comment here as I have a plethora of knowledge to share! Peace and love!
