Los Angeles Model Spotlight: Eclipse Monday | Tips on How to Pose Like a Model!
Eclipse Monday and I met on-set at a local brand’s anniversary soirée. Two years ago, Eunice Fonseca, formerly the owner of the 4theegirl fashion brand (and now luxury plant design house Planeteria Latina), hosted an intimate event that featured vendors, a fashion show, and a delightful mix of attendees who were as glamorous as the brand itself.
Eclipse Monday was a model for the fashion show and I was the hairstylist at large. Creating chic and alluring hairstyles for each model and some guests gave Eclipse Monday and me the chance to become acquainted. Her striking blend of curly, long, naturally sunned hair was a sight to behold all on its own, and creating an elegant updo was so much fun. As we collaborated, we also became friends. Eclipse Monday is one of those rare people who can exude the essence of emotion at a moment’s notice. She uses her life as an extension of an artist’s stroke, including her body. She views her work as a study of the female form and captivates the camera wherever she goes. Her brilliance, innate charm, and ability to embody a moment are unparalleled.
Fortunately for us, Eclipse Monday was willing to share some of her story and how to pose like a model, even if you aren’t one.

Tell us about yourself (ESPECIALLY YOUR NAME!! Where did this moniker come from?! )
I’m Eclipse Monday.
“I’m a Colorado native that grew up moving around the U.S. appreciating everything that I took in. My father is an artist and painter and my mommy worked in real estate. I grew up with my mommy, she was always creating something, whether it was family fun videos or some type of arts and crafts. With creative parents I became very outgoing, but with a big case of stage fright. As I grew up, modeling was always a guilty fascination that I never told anyone about. The name Eclipse Monday came from me coloring my hair when I was younger. I used to say that it was my alter ego.”
What are you presently grateful for, at this moment?
Eclipse Monday: “I am truly grateful to have support with my modeling and photography passions.”
What is something that others would be surprised to learn about you?
Eclipse Monday: “I have two movement disorders, chronic pain, and autoimmune disease. I use modeling to help me live life in many positive ways.”
How did you get your start as a model?
Eclipse Monday: “Growing up I was extremely self-conscious for being too skinny, and modeling became a way to appreciate and love my body. I started shooting with local photographers and fell in love with creating art.”
You’re in school now, what’s your major and what do you miss most about shooting?
Eclipse Monday: “My degree is in computer science and I always miss the challenge of creativity and new locations.”
What has the transition to school been like?
Eclipse Monday: “So far the transition into school while working hasn’t impacted me too much just yet. I try to keep a school schedule that will not impact my shooting too much. I plan to take online class options when I can.”
What is the wildest thing you’ve ever had to do to get the perfect shot?
Eclipse Monday: “There are a few wild things I have done to create an epic shot, like climbing tall trees, dealing with extreme winds and cold temperatures, and swimming with koi fish. I’m scared of fish, a little.”
Do you have a power pose?
Eclipse Monday: "My power pose would have to be a direct look into the camera with my legs apart standing with hands on hips.”
Do you have any tips for first time models or anyone looking to step their photo game up?
Eclipse Monday: "My best advice would be to practice, practice, and more practice. Being comfortable is key! We are all different and knowing your body helps so much.”
