We’re all in this together!

I am sure that I am joining you in a bounty of thanks to the wonderful people of note who have chosen to donate resources of all types, especially necessities such as PPE (personal protective equipment), to the healthcare heroes, frontline workers, and those who are especially in need during this COVID-19 crisis! Many of us are living on a limited budget but still want to help out, here are 5 ways that you can give back without breaking the bank:
1. Order some food or a treat for a loved one from a favourite local restaurant that is still open, you can even donate a little extra directly to the restaurant of your choice through certain delivery services such as Uber Eats. Download the Uber Eats app for more information!
2. If you sew or are crafty, utilize some extra material to make masks for yourself and others, if you find that you are particularly good at making them donate some to your local hospital/care facility. Be sure to follow the instructions for mask making as per the CDC guidelines!
3. Bring groceries to the elderly, if you’re in a US city such as Los Angeles, Denver, Honolulu, or even Marin check out www.zoomerstoboomers.com to sign up and volunteer to deliver groceries!
4. Decorate the windows or exterior of your home with encouraging words or lively decorations. You never know whose day you may brighten!
5. If you stockpiled sanitizer or other hygiene goods and find you have too many, donate them to a local homeless or women’s shelter. Find a Salvation Army location near you, or even better support a local organization in your area.
EXTRA: Order a box (or two) of Girl Guides / Girl Scouts cookies or donate some of said boxes through the organization so that the Girl Guides / Girl Scouts can distribute cookies to first responders, charitable organizations, and the rest of the healthcare heroes / frontline workers who are battling COVID-19.
EXTRA: If you’re brave enough to donate your time and feel that your lifestyle has been and is presently low risk to (yourself and) others, volunteer at a local food bank or soup kitchen. I know that the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank urgently requires volunteers and donations, find out more information here: www.lafoodbank.com!
Do you have any ideas that you have been executing in your life that weren’t mentioned here? I’d love to hear them and add them in! Feel free to comment or send a post over<3 Keep staying safe and take care<3
